The Food Safety Manager / Leader is primarily responsible to drive, identify and address various operations, and quality to develop and implement solutions. This role is responsible for working with operations and quality assurance teams to ensure all corrective actions have been implemented and are being followed. Provide advice on changes and how to implement them and provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Apply risk management to frame, develop and execute programs that proactively detect risk and provide mitigation plans to business leaders.
Support unique client groups in mitigating risk by providing functional expertise and applying tools and techniques to solve highly complex problems.
Lead cross-functional teams and foster partnerships to deliver complex, multifaceted projects and implement strategic compliance solutions.
Align stakeholders and drive decision-making through influencing and balancing risk of proposed programs and projects and implement strategic compliance solutions.
Develop and implement change management strategies for programs and initiatives, including but not limited to: Stakeholder analysis, organizational impact analysis, risk identification and mitigation tactics.
Ensure FDA, FSMA compliance as site PCQI.
Manage the QA/QC activities required to maintain and improve the Quality Management System and act as lead for HACCP, and product recall.
Maintain compliance with all updates to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety. Strive to attain AA rating.
Act as liaison and Project Manager for continuous improvement, gap closures, and addressing evolving standards.
Direct all activities associated with the Quality System elements (QSEs).
Act as the site quality resource for disposition of project under investigation.
Skills & Abilities:
Experience designing and implementing Ethics and Compliance initiatives to meet business needs.
Ability to successfully achieve strategic outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
Ability to consult with and influence senior leadership.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of related experience
College degree preferred
